PROFESSIONAL CLEANER
Position Information
Job Title: Professional Cleaner

Employment Type: Full-Time
Purpose of the Position
Klinsit Sofa Cleaners is seeking professional, reliable and customer-focused cleaners to join its cleaning team.
The Professional Cleaner will be responsible for delivering high-quality cleaning services at clients’ homes, offices and other premises while maintaining Klinsit’s standards of professionalism, punctuality, customer care, honesty and attention to detail.
As a customer-facing member of the company, the cleaner will be expected to represent Klinsit positively at all times and ensure that every customer receives excellent service.
Key Responsibilities
The Professional Cleaner will be responsible for:
- Carrying out professional cleaning of sofas, carpets, mattresses, dining chairs and other upholstered items.
- Setting up, operating and safely handling cleaning machines and equipment.
- Using cleaning chemicals, detergents and stain-removal products correctly and responsibly.
- Assessing the item or surface before cleaning and identifying stains, fabric types or areas requiring special attention.
- Performing vacuuming, stain treatment, deep cleaning, extraction and finishing according to Klinsit procedures.
- Protecting customers’ furniture, floors, walls and other property while working.
- Maintaining a clean and organised working environment during and after every assignment.
- Ensuring cleaning equipment is properly cleaned, handled and stored after use.
- Reporting damaged equipment, shortages or operational challenges promptly.
- Following all company health, safety and cleaning procedures.
Minimum Requirements
Candidates should have:
- Previous experience in professional cleaning, commercial cleaning, residential cleaning, upholstery cleaning or a related field.
- Good communication skills in English and Kiswahili.
- Ability to communicate respectfully with customers and colleagues.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good personal hygiene and professional presentation.
- Excellent punctuality and time-management skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and established cleaning procedures.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Physical ability to undertake cleaning work and handle cleaning equipment.
- High levels of honesty, integrity, reliability and accountability.
- Willingness to travel to different customer locations within Nairobi and Kiambu.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates who possess:
- A certificate in professional cleaning, housekeeping, hygiene, hospitality or a related cleaning course.
- Training in the safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Experience operating upholstery/carpet extraction machines, wet-and-dry vacuum cleaners or related professional cleaning equipment.
- Previous experience working for a professional cleaning company.
- Basic knowledge of different upholstery fabrics, stains and appropriate cleaning methods.
- Knowledge of Nairobi and Kiambu locations.
